Ingredients from Boat Pantry:
Small Kraft pizza mix, includes dough mix, spices, pizza sauce and Parmesan cheese.
Water (warmed slightly)
Dried oregano or Italian spices
Brothers Mild pepperoni. This is a specific local entity that can be found in some Sobey’s Grocery stores across Canada. This is a small pepperoni completely different than the salami sized version.
Green onions. Use yellow or white onions instead or grow green onions on the boat.
Graded fresh Parmesan cheese (optional)
Red, orange or yellow bell pepper
Margarine (for greasing pan)
9×9 square pan
Bowl for mixing dough
Cutting board and sharp knife
Light and turn on oven to 425 F (or temperature indicated on pizza box).
Mix dough according to instructions on box, form into a ball and spread margarine over the dough ball. Cover bowl and place in warm place to let raise a bit.
Slice meats and vegetables, keeping all separate.
Shred Mozzarella cheese.
Grease 9×9 pan.
After about 15 minutes turn raised dough into greased pan and spread out using fingers, and up the sides of the pan.
Open can of pizza sauce and pour over bottom of dough.
Sprinkle sauce with spices from pizza mix.
Sprinkle onion on top of spices.
Place a layer of one or two slices thick of salami.
Place each of the vegetables on top.
Place pepperoni on top of vegetables.
Sprinkle toppings with Parmesan cheese, from the package and freshly grates.
Top with shredded Mozzarella cheese.
Place chopped bacon on top of cheese. (Bacon will not cook sufficiently, if inside the pizza).
Place in oven and bake for approximately 20 minutes. Turn oven down if you feel it is cooking on the bottom too quickly.
Remove from oven and let stand a 5-10 minutes prior to cutting. It is hot and can be messy!
