Sterilizing Jars

Add approximately 1″ of water in a rectangle pan.
Depending on the number and size of jars, you may need more than one pan.
Place jars upside down, including lids and seals in the pan.
Place pan in oven set at 250 F for at least 15 minutes, depending on how fast your oven heats.
Bottles will be steamy inside and possibly have the water sucked up inside, when ready to use.
Keep them in the water inside oven (you can turn it off) until ready to use.
While bottles are sterilizing, prepare jam, jelly, pickles etc.

Handle the hot jars  carefully and pour using a ladle and  a wide mouth funnel for safety, leaving at least 1 inch at the top of the jar for expansion. Secure lids on the jars. Place jars in fridge or freezer depending on recipe.
