Although I like making traditional jams and jellies, freezer jams and jellies have the flavour of fresh fruit with no concerns about burning yourself on hot liquid!
1 cup crushed strawberries (fresh or frozen)
2 cups crushed blueberries (fresh or frozen)
5 cups sugar
2 tbsp lemon juice
2 pouches certo liquid fruit pectin
Combine fruits, sugar and lemon juice in large bowl.
Stir well and let stand 10 minutes.
Add liquid pectin to mixture, stirring for 3 minutes until most of the sugar is dissolved.
Pour into sterilized jars (or very clean class jars or plastic containers with tight lids.
Let stand at room temperature until set (may take 24 hours).
Store in freezer or for up to three weeks in refrigerator.
Yield: 7 cups.
